This has worked out very well for me. All the quality I would expect from Osprey. Love the ability to stow the shoulder straps for easier packability. The day back it comes with is a great size. I have no complaints, and would make zero changes.

Perfect choice for planes, trains, and hiking along. Great removable day pack.

I bought this for our new travel lifestyle based on reviews of similar travels. Unfortunately, this is a terrible backpack for travel. There isn't any organization and no quick access. Dumping everything into the main backpack is fine, since I use packing cubes, but there aren't any front pockets for storing and accessing IDs, cords, etc. (except a useless small one on the daypack), The daypack doesn't open up very far and has no organizational tools, so it's your laptop and the tiny bit it can carry just dumped in. You can't get to your laptop without pulling everything out, and there's no way to secure anything, so it's just a matter of time before you lose something critical. If you're planning on using this for heavy travel, don't. There are better options.

Take it as a carry on for Europe travel. I like the large compartment and the way you can open it like a suitcase. The daypack is useful, not too big, but good enough for a city walk, and the should straps hold it close to your back, nice ergonomics. Also, the size is perfect as a carry on. However, when packing everything together, the bag pulling me backwards and I have to lean forward to keep myself balanced, which ends up giving me so much back pain. Though I tried to pack the heavy items in the big compartment which is closer to my back to avoid lever effects. I love the waist strap, I tried to adjust the suspension straps, all that. But I think somehow, it’s not helpful enough to transfer the weight to hip. If you really concerned about weight distribution and to avoid back pain, go for a real backpacking bag, which has better weight distribution structure. Otherwise, it’s a nice quality pack.

Had to return this item. The storage space is minimal at best with most of the room taken up by shoulder straps. Plus it looks like it is actually two separate packs not one.
