Thermaltake Contac 9 SE, CPU-Kühler

Purchased this for an i3 12100F, which is a sub 60w TDP CPU. This cooler has no issue with it, even when it boosts. This is a fairly standard design (heatpipe tower style), just smaller (92mm fan vs 120/140mm fan). It only has two heatpipes as well. For such a low power CPU this is a perfect fit, and gets the job done. It is a little basic looking with no coatings or finishes, or even lighting for that matter. But at this price point, I don't think I'll really miss those features.

I've been using this cooler in a server tower build for almost a month now, haven't had any issues, and it works pretty good. For a little more money you could probably get something a bit nicer, but if you're on a very tight budget, and ultimately just simply need a cooler, this isn't a bad option at all.

The only redeeming quality about this product is that it cools the CPU more than the stock Intel cooler. It's probably the worst designed cooler I've ever used. Will not buy again.

This has plastic pins that push into the mount holes on the motherboard, no backplate. When trying to clip the cooler down to its bracket, the force is too much for the pins and they popped out every time. The mechanical design is basically putting all the springs' force into those pins, trying to force them out. I wouldn't trust this thing to stay seated and in contact with the CPU. I see the Cooler Master Hyper 212 at least has a backplate so I'll try that one.
