I bought this subwoofer nearly a month ago and I am very pleased with it the fist thing my wife did was to watch the Titanic film again it sounded great with the Sony sound bar. Hoping to get rear speakers at some point

I tried two units, a used one from a big box retailer and a brand new one directly from Sony. Neither could push out bass even close to my 20 year old sub with less than half the power. I went through multiple rounds of tech support only to figure out there must be a problem linking correctly to my STR-AZ5000ES. Perhaps it works better paired with a soundbar, but with an AVR, performance is unacceptable.
