TP-LINK Tapo RV30 Max Plus

This thing is absolutely hot garbage. It seemed so good at first with it cleaning almost everything we threw at it. However, after 2 weeks, there is a software error where the Robot will think that the front bumper is stuck, even though it is not. This was supposedly fixed in Firmware v1.2.0 but it seems that did not fully resolve the issue as it is still present. I highly recommend to avoid this and get something from Eufy or Ecovacs for a slightly higher price, but way more reliability.

Fantastic robot very easy to use and setup. Mapping is ace we have had three ecovacs and each time the kid's leave a pillow they get lost and try and remap not tapo... And you can lock the map and back it up and add items to avoid just well thought out for a busy family.

This is my third floor robo vacuum and is a far better compared to my Deebot Ecovac in terms of navigating through the house. This can navigate through every open space even when the layout of the furniture changes while Deebot sticks to it's pre-plotted map. The only downside is that this sits a few millimeter higher than Deebot which has been an issue when accessing space underneath a cabinet. Got this for $399 which is similar price when I got the Deebot and with moderate and heavy use, they average 2 years before developing any issues.

Was excited to try it. It did a reasonable job at first - but over time missed corners and got tangled regularly and tried to drive into open wardrobes. It also stopped finding its way home - it would circle around the dock but not find it. Returned the first one hoping for better, the second had the same issues within a couple of weeks. Whilst its cheap (Don't buy it for more than $399) it just didn't do a good job.

Functionally, I think it is a good unit. Has worked well at cleaning and particularly impressed by its ability to relocate itself. However, TP-Link have confirmed that they do not supply replacement batteries for this unit. What? That effectively means you will get perhaps 2 years out of this before its performance will mean you throw it away and spend another $400. The advice I received from a support request was that "we cannot sell batteries separately because they are not easily removable." Buyer beware.
