The gadget works fine, but the app has been changed so that when a backup is created, all the meta data (like the date the picture is taken) is lost. So, DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE ... I tried auto and manual backup, copy files -- and nothing works. The only way this gadget can be used is if you do a manual backup, every day -- but you still lose the meta data, like location tags, etc. Finally, I got on the phone with Customer Support ... and wasted another hour. What a shame. Please do not waste your money.

It does what it claims, and with no hassles or difficulty. When iPhone pics are copied to a Windows 10 they have a sensible name and EXIF data maintained. For me, it is the better than transferring by any other way. Vital safety for backing up iPhone pics when on holiday (without fast unlimited data).

Device would be great if the app that utilizes it actually worked. I’ve only been successful a very small percentage of time in using it. I bought other sizes for smaller capacity iPhones and had the same problem. After plugging in the device the Xdrive app starts but almost always asks to plug in the Xdrive when it’s already plugged in. Usually takes around 7 or 8 tries for it to actually startup correctly but then when selecting the option to backup photos it times out and nothing happens.
