Mario & Sonic aux Jeux Olympiques : Tokyo 2020 propose une grande variété de mini-jeux et convient parfaitement aux familles et groupes grâce à ses commandes accessibles et sa présentation colorée. Les options multijoueurs sont complètes, en local comme en ligne. Cependant, le mode histoire est souvent jugé ennuyeux et lent, avec beaucoup de dialogues inutiles. Certains sports manquent de profondeur et la musique n'est pas très marquante. La rejouabilité en solo est limitée, mais pour jouer à plusieurs, c'est un party game joyeux et bien réalisé.

I like Mario games, and I also like Sonic games, I even like a couple of the Olympic ones, but this was just about the worst story mode of a game I've ever played. The dialog was boring and unskippable, the story itself was bland all the way till the end, and almost nothing interesting happened the whole game. Playing the mini games on their own is fun, but the story is the most boring story I have ever played in a video game. You dont even get to chose who you play as for both the sports and running around, which really took the fun out of it even more. Fun game for short mini games, but that is it.
