A compact and lightweight, fast standard prime lens with an affordable price tag that makes a decent walk-around lens for full-frame Canon RF-mount cameras.

Thoroughly enjoying this little lens. It has optical flaws but is surprisingly usable wide open and capable of some lovely images. Kudos to Canon for giving us hobbyists such a fast aperture.

It's early days of using this lens so far. Of course I tried the lens but its usefulness will take longer to discover, as I try it in more real-world situations. So far, what I really like is the light weight and compact size. That suits me, I'd be happy to use it for everyday situations. The focus speed and accuracy is great. As for image quality, the shots I've taken so far are have impressed me. I don't think one should complain at the price. For video use, an on-camera microphone is likely to pick up the sound of the focus motor, though it is seems less intrusive than say the RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro. Overall, pretty happy.

I like to take photos of the night sky and to have a very bright lens always appealed to me. Just the prize and the weight of 50 mm 1.2 or 85mm 1.2 were so high that I never really got the idea to buy them. So I really appreciated this one coming along. One cannot expect the same high image quality as if you pay almost 6 times the price for the L lenses. What is suffers for a night sky photographer: There is a lot of coma outside the center. Even on photos taken with an APS-C camera this optical failure is very noticeable. The positive things: You can take some low light photos handheld which would probably not as easy with a regular lens. If you like to take portraits (especially with an APS-C camera) is the great depth perspective. It is definitely for low light.
