Guerlain Vetiver est un véritable classique du vetiver, construit autour de notes sèches, vertes et légèrement fumées. De nombreuses sources le décrivent comme équilibré, raffiné et très polyvalent : il convient au bureau, au quotidien comme aux occasions habillées et est souvent recommandé comme parfum signature fiable. Pour une eau de toilette, ses performances sont remarquables, avec environ 6 à 8 heures de tenue, voire plus, et une projection nette sans être étouffante. Par temps chaud, Vetiver reste frais et aérien sans devenir sucré ou lourd, ce qui en fait un bon choix pour l’été. En revanche, son profil est assez sec, amer et épicé, avec une forte facette verte et tabac. Cela peut paraître sévère, voire un peu médicinal ou rétro, surtout pour ceux qui préfèrent les parfums doux ou sucrés. Certains trouvent aussi l’ouverture épicée légèrement piquante ou métallique. Vetiver conviendra donc surtout aux acheteurs en quête d’un vetiver classique et mature, à l’aise avec un style sec et peu sucré.

I love this dry, smoky vetiver, which has been captured here incredibly stylishly and precisely. Nothing feels playful or modernized at all costs. Instead, a scent profile emerges that is classic, masculine, and at the same time surprisingly modern. The smoky facets give the fragrance depth without ever becoming heavy. It is this dry elegance that makes it so special for me. It reminds me of scents with history - of true perfumery art that does not follow trends but radiates permanence. Basically Vetiver Parfum is a more safe/wearable version of Sultan Vetiver . In addition to the very natural vetiver note, it also has the bit of resinousness (?) that gives Sultan Vetiver its slight sweetness. It's not soapy like other vetiver frags in this genre but stays in that kind of musty vibe. But it has a bit of woodiness and structure that keeps it from going too far down that damp loamy path. All in all, I'd say it's a good fragrance, just not very unique. If you know what Encre Noire Eau de Toilette and Sultan Vetiver are about, you pretty much know this one too.

As a Male over 50 I was looking forward to wearing this fragrance which has been around for years and has a great reputation. Inital fragrance smells graet but doesn't last more than 2 hours on me, so I have to use a lot in order to smell it al all. I was very disappointed and won't be buying it again, but it may well be my skin type and work better for other people. Suggest try it first before buying!

This is yet again another amazing fragerance from Guerlain. This is a scent that is masculine and mature not for the younger individual. Will leave a lasting impression on someone. Good for work. If you work in an office, just go light on the sprays a little goes a long way with this.
