Issey Miyake Fusion D'Issey EDT 50 ml

Saw this in a shop in the Canary Islands, waited until I got home and noticed it was on offer at Debenhams so made the purchase and wasn’t disappointed. Smells lovely, loads of people have commented on how nice it is

The Fusion d'Issey is quite a solid fragrance in itself without any particular "wow" effect. The longevity on my skin is surprisingly good at 11 to 12 hours, but the scent becomes quite close to the skin fairly quickly. Accordingly, I rate the sillage as moderate. The top note smells fresh, alcoholic, synthetic, maritime, creamy, fruity, citrusy, and slightly sweet with hints of figs, lemon zest, and coconut cream. The heart note has a spicy, floral, and somewhat green scent with cardamom, nutmeg, allspice, eucalyptus, camphor, violet leaves, rosemary, fig leaves, geraniums, daffodils, and lily of the valley. In the base, I still detect a rather indefinable woodiness. In the end, I'm not quite sure what to make of the "Fusion d'Issey | Issey Miyake." Nevertheless, I thank Nick for the manufacturer sample.

I am generally a fan of sweet men’s fragrances. But Fusion D'Issey has clearly shown me where my limits lie. During my last Flaconi order, I received a sample of this EdT and generously sprayed it on my neck yesterday morning. Immediately, a nearly biting fig scent unfolds, which smells very synthetic and overpowers all the other (supposedly present) fragrance notes. This extremely sweet, sticky note remains almost unchanged for about 2 hours. By that time, however, the scent is already almost completely gone. The heart and base notes described above could only be vaguely sensed; the fig, as mentioned, overshadowed the entire spectrum and rendered the fragrance, for me, practically unusable. Conclusion: With all the praise I often give to new fragrances, it was also interesting to see with this perfume what my nose can happily do without. Thankfully, Fusion D'Issey was only a tiny sample, and it will definitely stay that way for me!
